Interview Reflection

The Interview:

After having my interview not long ago, I am here to analyse my performance during that and seen where my areas of improvement are. Starting with what I did right, I had a good grasp on the knowledge of the subject area and was able to answer questions about the industry and showed a lot of technical knowledge. However, it was stated that there was a lack of educational knowledge I'm my responses. I need to remember to incorporate the projects that I have made on my course and some of the things that it has taught my to reinforce my knowledge base.

My pro-interview task was a small project that required a few bugs fixing and some small features added. When prompted about this, I liked that I talked about the process of understanding and reading a unity project that I had just been handed. This demonstrates that I am always thinking critically when working with code in game engines. My feedback stating that my task was well implemented, although, I overlooked the documentation. This is something that I need to work on improving. As I discussed in Devlog #8, that I should be keeping a testing log of bugs that I have tested. Having not used a similar method here to ensure the documentation and quality of my work is a huge missed opportunity to put some new skills into practice. Going forward, I will be keeping a log (even a small one) for all of the project I do.

To conclude, this experience was a nice boost to my confidence. My communication skills are a a solid point and my technical knowledge of my subject is great and still growing. The main takeaway is that I need to ensure that I have hit all aspects of my given task fully and clearly, taking a bit of time to refine some of the smaller details to my projects.
